Isn’t there enough publishing houses on the planet already without adding another one? This was a question I asked of myself before taking the course of action that I eventually took i.e. starting a business that I knew nothing about before I began.
This is a story of how God works in mysterious ways.
The beginnings of Festoon Publishing began before it was officially registered, mainly through frustration with existing publishing houses not wanting to add any more authors to their client list – especially authors who wanted to write about certain spiritual matters!
When I say ‘spiritual matters’ there is plenty of opportunity to publish books on witchcraft, erotica, horror, romance, murder mystery and so forth, but books that are inspirational and edifying to the soul has to somehow find the ‘niche market’ in a world that craves darkness rather than light.
The saga began after much prompting from God to write down some of the things that were so encouraging to me, things that the Spirit of God had revealed to me. These were things that I received after many years of studying and reading the Word of God – the Holy Bible, yet it wasn’t from studying that I received revelation, it was given to me as a gift, it was God’s grace to me and to His Church. There are some things that will always be a mystery unless God brings revelation. We are now living in the days of Divine revelation. Now is the time when the Church needs to receive what is needed for the times that we are living in. The End Times.
Why me? The short answer: I don’t know.
There are many thousands of Biblical scholars who are far more educated than me, far more eloquent in the use of the English language than me, (my trade was surveying which was all mathematics), and yet it was me that gets the revelation on so many important foundational topics on Christian life. Perhaps there is a parallel between pegging out foundations for a building as a surveyor and bringing clarity to the spiritual foundation for the Church, that is, our Rock.
I am well aware that there is a ‘danger zone’ when someone gets a “special revelation from God” that nobody else has received. How do I know for sure that I am not being deceived?
Everything that I have received must be brought into the light of what has already been revealed to be true by the saints of old and be exposed to the light of scrutiny my brothers and sisters in Christ who have the scholastic ability, and the illuminating Spirit of God to discern truth from error.
After such scrutiny, am I not then compelled to share these things with my brothers and sisters in the body of Christ? And how?
You won’t find these revelations in current books on Christian bookstore shelves anywhere. It seems that most authors will venture to speak of their own experiences, but they like to stay on the safe ground of reiterating what is already known and accepted in theological circles – right or wrong.
There are some things that must be personally experienced to be fully believed, so it is by hearing or reading about these things that the way is opened for us to ponder on these matters further. Festoon Publishing was born of necessity as there needed to be a place where books would not be scrutinised purely against church traditions, but rather, scrutinised against the Word of God and the light of what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to us today!
It became evident to me that I had to create a new publishing house to hold the ‘new wine’ of today’s message that is going to be so edifying to His Church. Since I made that decision, I have had numerous authors contact me to get their books printed with great success.
